About our Services

Scope of Practice

Our scope of practice aligns with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) domains of practice, ensuring a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to supporting students, families, and educational systems.

1. Data-Based Decision Making and Accountability

We use a data-driven approach to assess student needs and inform educational decision-making. This includes conducting thorough evaluations through a combination of parent interviews, teacher feedback, classroom observations, assessment tools, and peer comparisons to gain a complete understanding of each child’s strengths and challenges. Our evaluations are designed to provide actionable insights for educational planning, intervention strategies, and support services.

2. Consultation and Collaboration

We collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and parents to develop effective strategies that support students' academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being. We offer professional development sessions for school staff on best practices in special education, the special education process, and how to implement evidence-based interventions. Additionally, we provide guidance to parents on their rights in the special education system, empowering them to advocate for their child’s needs.

3. Interventions and Instructional Support

We design and recommend targeted interventions tailored to individual students, considering academic, social-emotional, and behavioral factors. Our holistic approach ensures that interventions are customized to meet the specific needs of each child, and we work closely with educators to implement and monitor these interventions effectively, using data to adjust strategies as needed.

4. Mental and Behavioral Health

We assess and support students' mental health and social-emotional well-being, recognizing the crucial role that emotional and behavioral factors play in academic success. We provide strategies for addressing behavioral concerns, fostering social-emotional development, and promoting positive mental health practices within the school environment.

5. Diversity in Development and Learning

We apply a culturally responsive and inclusive lens to all assessments and interventions, recognizing and valuing the diverse backgrounds and experiences that each child brings to the school environment. This includes addressing the unique needs of students from varied cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, ensuring that my practice is sensitive and equitable.

6. School-Wide Practices to Promote Learning

We work with schools to improve systems and practices that support student learning across all levels. This includes conducting systems change assessments to identify areas for improvement and advocating for school-wide practices that promote an inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environment for all students.

7. Family-School Collaboration

We recognize the essential role of families in the educational process and work to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Through parent training sessions, we help families understand their rights and responsibilities in the special education process and equip them with the knowledge to actively engage in their child’s educational journey.

8. Research and Program Evaluation

We integrate current research and best practices into my assessments and interventions, ensuring that my services are evidence-based. We also conduct program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of educational practices and interventions, providing schools with recommendations for improvement based on data and research.

By adhering to the NASP domains of practice, our services are designed to foster an educational environment where every child’s needs are understood and supported, promoting their academic, social, and emotional success.
